Computer Science-Engineering MSc-PhD Studentships
Özyeğin University is a young research university with internationally recognized achievements, strong research staff, and distinguished opportunities.
Dr. Murat Şensoy invites applications to pursue MSc/PhD degrees in Computer Science/Engineering in his new internationally funded research project. The project is focused on modeling trust in information in uncertain environments.
Today, information is provided by diverse information sources such as bloggers, twitter users, newspapers, sensors of various types, and so on. However, not all of the information received from these sources is reliable. Instead, some malicious information sources disseminate misleading information (i.e., disinformation) on purpose to manipulate decision makers. The purpose of this project is to develop models and approaches to estimate trustworthiness of information sources and reliability of the information they provide.
The students involved in the project will have the opportunity to closely work with researchers from IBM T. J. Watson Research center (USA), Carnegie Melon University (USA), and University of Aberdeen (UK).
