Scholarship Description: A successful entrepreneur since he graduated from INSEAD, Freddy Salem (MBA ’66) has run several private businesses in West Africa, Russia and the US.
Keen to foster economic development in West Africa, Freddy Salem supports education initiatives that develop business talent for the region.
In awarding these scholarships, INSEAD shall particularly seek candidates from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and Benin.
Eligibility: Candidates must be nationals from a West Africa country (preferably Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and Benin) and will have spent most of their lives and received most or part of their education in Africa. Preference will be given to candidates who require proven financial assistance.
Selection Criteria: Candidates for the INSEAD scholarships will need to demonstrate: (a) academic achievement and promise (b) aptitude for business and financial management, and (c) a strong likelihood of spending the better part of their working careers in West Africa.
Eligible Groups: Targeted at postgraduate candidates from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and Benin
Participating Institutions: INSEAD France and Singapore
Fields of Study: MBA, financial management and related degree programmes
Scholarship Benefits: Up to €20,000 financial aid will be awarded
Sponsorship Duration: The scholarship is a one time financial offer to pay for the recipients’ full time MBA programme

DEADLINE: The annual deadline date for the July Class is 13 February (starts in September) AND that for the December Class is 22 August (starts in January). These are offered every year.
