Eligibility:

Applicants must have completed a research degree (e.g. Undergraduate honours 1st class) or have completed a substantial research component as part of their undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Knowledge and experience in social networks analysis, statistical modelling (i.e., Exponential random graph model, stochastic actor-based model) and computer programming (including Database, Java programming) would be required. The scholarship is open to both international and local applicants. A fee waiver scholarship may be provided for a qualified international student.

Scholarship Description: A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a good honours degree in science or engineering to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in complex systems. The project aims to (i) develop new method/approach to capture dynamicity of complex social networks; and (ii) explore the impact of network structure and network dynamics on performance (both at micro- and macro-level) by using social network methods and theories in context of disaster response and preparedness.
